Resilience, the new challenge in earthquake engineering

All technical tours will be held on Saturday, January 14th and will have a cost per person of USD 20 with with limited number of participant and need previous registration.

  • Gran Torre Santiago – Gran Costanera Tower: It has 64 floors, or 300m (984ft) of height. The main tower is the tallest building in Chile, South America, and also the tallest office tower in Latin America. Construction began in 2006 and finished in 2013. It has a postmodern style and is built of glass, steel, aluminium, concrete, reinforced. Design by Rene Lagos and Associates engineers.


  • Titanium Tower La Portada: It has a height of 191.7 m (629 ft) at the roof and 52 aboveground floors, plus another 7 underground floors. The seven underground floors are used primarily for parking. It is located in Santiago's financial district, El Golf; on Andrés Bello Avenue and Isidora Goyenechea. The construction began in January 2007, and was completed in January, 2010. It was officially inaugurated on May 3, 2010. This building have seismic isolation system Design by Alfonso Larrain and Associates.


  • CChC New Building: the building has 82,5 m of height and 22 floors with a total of 24.100 m2, with offices up to 1602,96 m2, nine underground floors and an auditorium. Design by VMB.

Visiting Hours: 10:00 hrs
Duration of the visit: 45 min

Meeting point: Intercontinental Hotel (2885 Vitacura Av., Las Condes) At 09:30.
The use of closed and stiff shoes is mandatory (the use of heels or high soles is prohibited).
